TalkWithMe is a language-learning app. This page says plainly what we store, why, and what you can do about it.

What we store

• Your account — an email address, managed by Google's Firebase Authentication (email/password or Google sign-in). We never see or store your password.
• Your learning content, if you sync — decks, cards, images, pronunciation audio, review history, and word lists are backed up to your account so your devices stay in step. They live in Google Cloud Storage in the EU, encrypted at rest, and — apart from the shared pictures below — are readable only by your account.
• Pictures shared with other learners — when the AI generates a card image for you, a copy joins a community pool that other learners can search and reuse. Stored alongside it: the word it illustrates, its translations, the prompt it came from, a short AI-written description, the language, and an internal reference to the account that generated it. This is on by default; Settings → "Share generated pictures" turns it off for future pictures. Photos you upload and pictures you find on the web never join the pool.
• Usage counters — a daily tally of your AI usage, so the free allowance works. Numbers, not content.

How AI features work

When you use an AI feature — generating a card image, chatting, transcribing your voice, describing a photo you picked — the inputs you provide are sent through our server to Google's Gemini API to produce the result. Chat conversations are kept on your device, not on our server. We don't use your content to train anything.

Generated pictures that join the community pool are described and indexed by the same API, so other learners can find them by meaning rather than by filename.

What we don't do

• No ads. We never sell your data or hand it to third parties. The only content other people can see is the shared picture pool described above.
• No third-party analytics or tracking in the app.
• Server error monitoring (Sentry), when enabled, is configured to exclude personal data.

Your data, your calls

• Export — every deck exports to a standard Anki file with full progress, plus an image bundle, from inside the app. Your cards are yours — take them anywhere.
• Delete — Settings → Delete account removes your account, your synced content, and your usage records from our servers, and erases that account's cards from this device too. Export first if you want to keep them. Pictures already shared to the community pool stay in it; write to us if you need one taken down.
• Offline — reviewing your cards never needs an account or a connection.
